To integrate you into the military environment, you will be taught basic military knowledge and techniques here. During your training, attention will also be given to developing the character traits and physical qualities you need as a soldier.

- You must stay at the barracks during the week for this period. Teamwork and group living are essential as a soldier.
Military basics: map reading, military safety, basic first aid, drill, handling weapons, …
Tactics: To carry out your mission as a future SOF / Paracommando, it is essential to master specific techniques. Together with your teammates, you will need to complete missions successfully.
This includes:
» living in the field, both day and night (individual equipment, personal hygiene, camouflage, …);
» setting up observation posts and firing positions.

During the MIP, you learned the basics of being a soldier, but during the SPI, you will be trained to become a true Paracommando. Over 16 intensive weeks, you will develop additional professional skills and be physically and mentally prepared to pass the combat tests. Additionally, you will learn the values and standards that distinguish the Paracommandos. This is the ultimate challenge that will determine if you belong to the elite!

The “Obstacle Crossing Techniques & Survival” training course aims to enable you to safely cross obstacles (rock formations, waterways, etc.) under the supervision of an instructor-commando or assistant instructor-commando.

The training to be able to perform safe operational parachute jumps with automatic opening from the aircraft.

Next, you'll attend the "weapons school" where you'll learn the practical skills required to work within your specialization (Infantry - Engineers - Logistics - CIS - etc.). The location and duration of this training depend on your choice of weapon.
For limited-term non-commissioned officers and officers, the school is located in Saffraanberg (Royal School for Non-Commissioned Officers) or Tournai and for career officers in Brussels (Royal Military Academy). While you already have a military foundation, you will primarily receive theoretical instruction here to prepare you for later serving as a staff member within the organization.

• Progressive, physical, character, and professional preparation is provided to paracommando cadre members, SF operator candidates, and specialists so they can subsequently attend specialized SOF training courses.

During this module, the officers are given command of their tactical elements and must deliver and successfully complete orders for complex combat operations. The deployment of various resources and the extended autonomy make this part a very interesting but also very intense period.
