In addition to training parachutist candidates, the Parachutist Training Centre, as a competence centre for military parachuting, air supply, and air transport by aircraft or tactical helicopter, is always ready to efficiently and effectively support all “Airborne” and “Air Mobile” missions of the Special Operations Regiment, anywhere and anytime in the world.
A key feature of the Parachutist Training Centre is that almost all functions can only be performed by specialists.

PARACHUTIST TRAINING CENTRE

The Parachutist Training Centre provides training in military parachuting. Personnel learn the procedures, techniques and discipline required to jump safely and autonomously from a military aircraft and to land correctly on the ground.

FUNCTIES

EACH UNIT HAS ITS OWN SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS.

EACH UNIT FULFILS A DISTINCT ROLE WITHIN THE WHOLE. THROUGH SPECIALISATION AND CLOSE COOPERATION, THE DIFFERENT UNITS REINFORCE ONE ANOTHER, ENSURING EFFICIENCY, PRECISION AND OPERATIONAL STRENGTH. TOGETHER, THEY FORM A COHESIVE AND CAPABLE FORCE, READY TO RESPOND TO A WIDE RANGE OF MISSIONS AND ENVIRONMENTS.

Despatcher

After an intensive, thorough training and internship of 1 year, these “jump instructors” are ready to perform all aspects of military parachuting, focusing on the training of Para Cdo candidates and the “dropping” of Para Cdos during exercises and missions.
This qualification is open to trained Para Cdo cadres who have successfully completed the Military Free Fall training.

TEAM MEMBER
RAV-AIR

Employed in a unique platoon within the Defence, these specialists are responsible for air supply.
They parachute everything that can fit in a military transport aircraft. Whether for military or humanitarian operations, the Rav-Air platoon… “will get the job done”!

HELI HANDLING INSTRUCTOR

As a member of the “Mobile Air Operations Team”, these Para Cdos are responsible for the transport of equipment and personnel, both internally and externally, by tactical helicopter.
Thanks to their expertise, they also ensure the effective training of all Para Cdos in the operational use of these tactical helicopters.

SME – Testboard

After years of practical experience and extensive training, these Para Cdos have become “Subject Matter Experts” and are recognized as authorities in their specific fields. Whether it is “Static Line” jumps, Military Free Fall procedures, Rav-Air drops, and much more, these specialists ensure that everything is carried out safely.

PARACHUTE
SPECIALIST

Also known as “riggers,” these civilians and military personnel are the specialists in all aspects of the technical and logistical support for all parachuting missions carried out by and for the units of the Special Operations Regiment.
Whether it is folding the many different types of parachutes or repairing them, these specialists ensure that everything is done according to very strict safety standards.

BALLOON SPECIALIST

The well-known “Schaffen balloon” can only be safely handled by a team of specialists.
These Para Cdos undergo extensive “on the job” training before they can be counted among this select platoon.
